Happy to Chat Benches

“Happy to Chat” Benches are installed throughout our community to conquer social isolation and create connections within the community. The Rotary Club of Albany Creek would like to thank Moreton Bay Regional Council and Councillors Cath Tonks and Matt Constance for the grant funding and installation of these benches.

Annual Community Awards

The Rotary Club every year honour local individuals, community organisations and businesses whose contributions have made our community what it is today. The recipients are all “local heroes” – people who would never call for any attention or recognition for themselves but deserve acknowledgement and respect for their contributions. Awards are given for Pride of Workmanship; Ethics in Business; Community Service Award and Paul Harris Fellow.

Tree Planting

In conjunction with the Moreton Bay Regional Council, we have successfully planted trees at Lemke Park in Albany Creek. With the help of the Interact Club of Genesis College and our Albany Creek Scout Group we will continue to plant trees within this park as an ongoing project.

Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) - RYDA Bracken Ridge

The Rotary Club of Albany Creek, in partnership with Road Safety Education delivers this National program at Bracken Ridge TAFE.

We have successfully run this program since 2016. The Rotary Youth Driver Awareness Program (RYDA) is a professionally produced one-day training program that effectively brings home to year 11 and 12 students the level of danger that they will face as new drivers and the impact that road trauma will have of their lives and those of their family and friends.

Our Club annually volunteers over 140 man hours to deliver this critical program to approx. 650 local students.

For more information about this program please use the email addresses listed on our Contact Us page.
