About Us
Member numbers for our Club, chartered in 1983, have varied between 30 and 35 for many years and we are always keen to induct appropriate new members.
We are proud of our record as one of the most enjoyable clubs to visit and proud to participate in its social and service activities.
We benefit from a mix of professional, business and trade occupations. Many members have given more than a decade of service to Rotary. One member is a past District Governor.
Because Albany Creek is a dormitory suburb, and due to its demographics, the major focus of our Club has been in the Youth portfolio. Rotary allows Youth Service to be separated from international Service to become the Fifth Avenue of Service.
Our involvement in youth has encompassed Rotary sponsored programs such as Youth Exchange and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.
In addition, we have supported local schools, building good relationships with both Albany Creek Primary and Secondary schools and have been a long-standing advocate for, and sponsor of students to, the highly praised Science Summer School.
